About Allison

You can have an impactful idea, however, if you can’t communicate it well, you’ll be standing alone in the corner with your idea. I can help you message clearly and strategically to turn your ideas into success stories.

Ever since I was young, I was able to put thoughts and ideas into words.  I always heard, “Oh, Allison, if only I could  repeat what you just told me,” or “Can you write down for me word-for-word what you just said?” or “Allison, you know exactly how to express what I want to say—but you say it so much better than I ever could have said myself.” I love to weave words, thoughts and intention together in a seamless tapestry of expression and purpose.

I have had over 25 years of experience in broadcast media and entertainment, from network television to new media platforms including electronic retail, interactive television, and digital media. I am a freelance writer and media consultant and have been nominated for an Emmy four times. A native New Yorker, I graduated from University of Pennsylvania with a dual major in English and Communications from the Annenberg School for Communication. My strength is working within all different broadcast and digital platforms and managing people of creative and technical expertise.

My varied experience includes: ABC’s Good Morning America producing live remotes, taped segments, studio segments and becoming Special Projects Producer in charge of the week-long Theme Weeks and GMA’s Bus Trips Across America.

Next I went to Q2, an offshoot of QVC, a shopping network backed by Barry Diller and Diane Von Furstenberg. I was a top-selling Host as well as a Producer.

At The Global Shopping Network I was Executive Producer, managing a staff of over 100 people and overseeing 16 hours of live production. I created new shows, created promos and helped increase sales through the management of hosts, stylists, and buyers.

I joined ABC’s The View as one of its original Coordinating Producers., working with icon Barbara Walters and all the other co-hosts.

After a move to the West Coast, I co-founded the website, called Sage Street, and served as VP of Production and Content.

Post Sage Street I was recruited to join Open TV, an Interactive Television Company. I was Executive Producer of the creative team and liaison to the engineering team. I managed accounts for Echostar, Cablevision, and Static (A UK Games company). Our goal was to create interactive television applications to enhance the tv viewer’s experience.

I then helped MSNBC create a live television pilot for radio host and author, Michael Savage.

My next venture was to consult with Al Gore and Joel Hyatt to help in all start-up stages of Current TV. Current TV was a network populated by user submitted footage and young, intrepid civilian reporters.

Presently I run my own media consulting business, Allison Kluger Media Consulting, and am a lecturer at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business. I co-created “Reputation Management: Strategies for Successful Communicators” which is going into its 7th year, and I co-teach “Strategic Communication.”

I leveraged my television experience and created two innovative courses at the GSB which feature celebrity co-lecturers/featured guest speakers. One course is Project You: How to Build and Extend Your Personal Brand, which I co-teach with supermodel and businesswoman, Tyra Banks. We are about to teach our 4th year together. I also created the course Strategic Pivoting For Your Next Chapter. Alex Rodriguez is our featured guest lecturer. And we are preparing to teach again for a third year. And finally, I created a day-long seminar on “Executive Presence for Women,” which I teach at the School of Continuing Studies at Stanford.

I was awarded the Dorothy J. King Leadership Award from 2017-18.

In my spare time I am a voracious reader, I love going to the movies, I am writing a book, and I enjoy spending time with my two boys, our dog, Buddy, and my husband, Mark.
